Double cleansing, where you perform two cleanses consecutively, is important if you are wearing makeup or sunscreen. There are mixed reviews on this topic, but our answer is: Yes, but only if done carefully. Generally, the water temperature when taking a shower is much hotter than the water we would use at the sink to wash our face. So it’s very important to turn down the temperature if you are washing your face in the shower. Cleansing the face with hot water is not only drying to the skin but can cause redness and broken capillaries.
