FAQ'S

How do I know if the Tinted Mineral Sunscreen is right for my skin?

Our Tinted Mineral Sunscreen is by far our best-selling sunscreen for several reasons:

  • The silky texture and semi-matte finish provides elegant sun protection and layers beautifully under makeup as a primer.
  • The universally flattering, sheer tint works on most skin types (except very fair skin) and blends seamlessly leaving no white residue behind.
  • It’s a chemical-free sunscreen that is gentle enough for the most sensitive skin types.
  • As one of the only non-comedogenic sunscreens on the market, it is truly safe for acne-prone skin types.
  • An all-physical sunscreen, containing both zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, it delivers broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays.
  • Water and sweat-resistant for up to 80 minutes, this sunscreen is perfect for daily use and when swimming, sweating, or on vacation.

Is this sunscreen water and sweat resistant?

Our Tinted Mineral Sunscreen is water and sweat resistant for up to 80 minutes which makes it perfect for daily use, plus when swimming, exercising outdoors, on vacation.

What is the difference between a physical sunscreen and chemical sunscreen?

Chemical sunscreens (e.g. oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate, or octinoxate) undergo a chemical reaction with the UV rays, absorbing them and then releasing the extra energy as heat. The sunscreen's chemical reaction only lasts for a limited amount of time, so you have to reapply after 2-3 hours to ensure you’re still protected.

Physical sunscreens (e.g. zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) create a barrier of protection that reflects and scatters the UV rays. What's great about these sunscreens is that as long as the barrier is intact (you haven't sweat through the sunscreen or wiped it off) you won’t need to reapply as frequently.

Does the Tinted Mineral Sunscreen contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide?

Yes, formulated with both zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as the active ingredients, our Tinted Mineral Sunscreen offers all-physical, broad-spectrum SPF 40 sun protection. It’s free of chemical sunscreens, dyes, fragrances, and oils.

What does Broad Spectrum mean?

Broad Spectrum is a term that indicates a sunscreen will protect against both UVA (the aging rays that cause damage and cancer) and UVB (the burning rays that cause sunburn).

It is important to know that titanium dioxide only protects against UVB rays so you will want to make sure that it is mixed with a UVA blocker like zinc oxide, that’s why we use both in our Tinted Mineral Sunscreen.

How much sunscreen should I use?

To ensure your skin is properly protected it’s important to apply the correct amount of sunscreen. The proper dosage is a nickel-size dollop every time you apply it to your face.

  • The shade of Tinted Mineral Sunscreen works on most skin tones except for very fair skin, Illuminating Sunscreen is very fair and works best for lighter complexions.
  • Tinted Mineral Sunscreen offers SPF 40 protection and Illuminating Sunscreen offers SPF 58 protection.
