Emme’s Morning Routine
by Emily Burg on July 12, 2024
Curious as to how our founder, Emme, starts her busy day? Here are all the details of her morning routine, including her skincare lineup and what she uses for meditation!
5:00 am Wake Up
I wake up and immediately do my pre-workout skincare routine – a shortened version of my normal routine with just cleanser, toner, humectant and moisturizer to clean and refresh my skin from sleeping. We all sweat and shed dead skin cells overnight, and the residue from our hair products can get on our skin, too. So I like to get all that off my skin before working out so it doesn’t clog my pores when mixed with sweat. I know, it all sounds gross, but it’s true!
5:10 am Hydrate + Meditate
I like to mix this Marine Collagen with fresh-squeezed lemon juice in room temperature water. While my body rehydrates, I will do a morning meditation with either Tony Robbins “Priming” method, or I will do transcendental meditation. It all depends on my energy and what I feel I need that day.
5:40 am Celery Juice + Journal
I’ll grab a glass of celery juice and sit with this planner and journal to map out my day and get thoughts out of my head and onto paper. It’s like skincare – being consistent with this practice makes a huge difference!
6:00 am Morning Workout
I am a Tracy Anderson devotee so I’ll do one of her workouts from her Online Studio membership. I do like to add in some additional strength training sessions 2 times a week at Body20 (which is EMS training).
7:00 am Shower + Skincare
Back to the bathroom for a shower and my full morning skincare routine to start the day:
- Gentle Cleanser
- Ice
- Calm Down Toner
- Clarifying Serum
- Brilliant-C Serum
- Skin Quencher
- Barrier Balance
- Bright Eyed Serum
- Pure Protection Tinted SPF 40
8:00 am Emails + Consults
I’ll do a quick sit-down at my desk to catch up on emails and consults. It’s super important to me to get back to our online consultation requests as soon as possible, so I prioritize time in the morning to respond to these. They send me photos of their skin and answer questions about their skin type, concerns, and lifestyle habits, and by tapping into what I know from seeing countless of faces over the years, I can immediately tell what first steps they need to take to make real change in their skin. This has and always will be a FREE service inside of our brand, which I think makes us pretty unique in today’s market.
8:30 am Out the Door + Breakfast to-go
I am gluten and dairy-free – the former for gut health, the latter because dairy is a huge acne trigger. And I am very acne-prone! So for breakfast, I’ll add a dash of an acne-safe creamer to my coffee (Nutpods or the Trader Joe’s Oatmilk creamer are two of my favorites) and I love Purely Elizabeth’s oatmeal with collagen to keep me satiated (blueberry walnut or vanilla pecan, so good.) I get the ones that come in cups to grab on my way out the door and make it later at our offices. Our Scottsdale studio and warehouse is thankfully a short commute for me, so I’ll listen to a quick clip of a podcast or an audiobook. Then it’s time to start my day!
xoxo,
Emme
