Pure Light Lotion is ideal for those with oily or combination skin. Fast-absorbing and lightweight, it’s also a favorite with men or those who have not used a moisturizer before.

While Pure Light Lotion is extremely popular in humid climates for oily skin types, HydraLuxe Cream is sometimes preferred for oily skin types that live in dry, desert climates to help lock in moisture. Additionally, some find that they prefer the lightweight Pure Light Lotion in the summer months and the richer HydraLuxe Cream in the winter months.

While these terms are generally used interchangeably, they are quite different as the skin requires both water moisture and oil moisture to function properly.

The terms “hydration” or “hydrating” refer to providing the skin with water moisture, which generally comes from an alcohol-free toner, like our Calm Down Toner, or humectants, like our Skin Quencher Gel or Dew Drops Serum.

The terms “moisturizer” or “moisturizing” refer to oil moisture which is essential to bind the water moisture in the skin as it is notorious for evaporating, leaving the skin dry and vulnerable.

Absolutely, we specially designed Pure Light Lotion for oily, acne-prone skin. It contains no pore-clogging ingredients plus ingredients that help control excessive oil production that can lead to ongoing breakouts.

Pure Light Lotion also calms inflammation and promotes wound healing to prevent potential acne scarring.

No, you can use the same moisturizer both day and night. Many companies offer moisturizers that are marketed as a day or night cream, but you just need one moisturizer which will equally benefit the skin at both times.

Often day creams contain sunscreen, which when diluted in a moisturizer, doesn’t give adequate protection to your skin. And night creams generally have active ingredients, such as retinol, which are buffered by the cream, making them less effective.

We believe it’s best that your moisturizer focuses on one job: locking moisture into your skin.

Pure Light Lotion should be applied when the skin is still moist from applying the previous product in your regime (this may be Skin Quencher Gel or a serum). Despite the name, your moisturizer is not there to moisturize your skin but to lock in moisture, so applying Pure Light Lotion to dry skin will not be as effective as applying it to moist skin.
