FAQ'S

How do I know if the Illuminating Sunscreen is right for my skin?

Our Illuminating Sunscreen is perfect for normal to dry skin types who desire a luminous, dewy complexion.

  • Lightly tinted to blend seamlessly with your natural skin tone, leaving no white residue behind.
  • A chemical-free sunscreen that is gentle enough for the most sensitive skin types.
  • One of the only non-comedogenic sunscreens on the market, it is truly safe for acne-prone skin.
  • An all-physical sunscreen, containing both zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, to deliver broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays.
  • Water and sweat-resistant for up to 40 minutes, this sunscreen is perfect for daily use.

Is this sunscreen water and sweat resistant?

Our Illuminating Sunscreen is water and sweat-resistant for up to 40 minutes which makes it the perfect sunscreen to be used daily.

What is the difference between a physical sunscreen and chemical sunscreen?

Chemical sunscreens (e.g. oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate, or octinoxate) undergo a chemical reaction with the UV rays, absorbing them and then releasing the extra energy as heat. The sunscreen's chemical reaction only lasts for a limited amount of time, so you have to reapply after 2-3 hours to ensure you’re still protected.

Physical sunscreens (e.g. zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) create a barrier of protection that reflects and scatters the UV rays. What's great about these sunscreens is that as long as the barrier is intact (you haven't sweat through the sunscreen or wiped it off) you won’t need to reapply as frequently.

Does Illuminating Sunscreen contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide?

Yes, formulated with both zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as the active ingredients, our Illuminating Sunscreen offers all-physical, broad-spectrum SPF 58 sun protection. It’s free of chemical sunscreens, dyes, fragrances, and oils.

What does Broad Spectrum mean?

Broad Spectrum is a term that indicates a sunscreen will protect against both UVA (the aging rays that cause damage and cancer) and UVB (the burning rays that cause sunburn).

It is important to know that titanium dioxide only protects against UVB rays so you will want to make sure that it is mixed with a UVA blocker like zinc oxide, that’s why we use both in our Illuminating Sunscreen.

How much sunscreen should I use?

To ensure your skin is properly protected it’s important to apply the correct amount of sunscreen. The proper dosage is a nickel-size dollop every time you apply it to your face.

What is the difference between the Illuminating Sunscreen and the Tinted Mineral Sunscreen?

Both sunscreens offer all-physical, broad-spectrum protection, but there are some differences:

  • Illuminating Sunscreen tint is very fair and works best for lighter complexions while Tinted Mineral Sunscreen works on most skin tones except for very fair skin.
  • Illuminating Sunscreen offers SPF 58 protection, Tinted Mineral Sunscreen offers SPF 40 protection.
  • Illuminating Sunscreen gives the skin a luminous glow and Tinted Mineral Sunscreen has a silky, semi-matte finish.

Insider tip: Many clients love to mix the Tinted Mineral Sunscreen and Illuminating Sunscreen together for the best of both worlds!
